Good quality. Generally good value
One of the workers there pretended to be from the federal government. I told I had her location and knew where she was calling from. She hung up. They won't answer my phone calls anymore.
This is my absolute favorite Sushi place on Capitol Hill!! While the sushi great... the employees and the laid back vibe they create makes this place awesome !! P.S. Try the garlic rice or their Yakisoba Noodles.. they are to die for!!
My sushi lunch bento was fresh, delicious and beautiful. You can feel the new owner really takes pride in the quality of her food! So glad they offer panko fried Spanish mackerel (you don’t see this very often), so so so good!
Amazing ........just amazing!! Large portions of quality sashimi. Great price and service. Almost too fast. Unwilling be a regular here for sure.
One of our favorite neighborhood sashimi, miso, rolls.
Maybe not the most fancy restaurant but definitely tasty food and friendly staff. Got a table right away and were served fast. I'll come back
Aoki is less than a minute walk away from my home so this is always a fun stop for me. Incredible sushi and dinner options. My favorite is their chicken teriyaki and tamago. Great speedy and friendly service.
My favorite everyday sushi restaurant on the hill
Best teriyaki on Cap Hill, hands down. Couldn't get a picture bc I ate so fast.
Super fast service, good food and friendly/warm customer service. Highly recommend- this was a great lunch spot.
New owner. Love the vibe. Friendly attentive staff.
Aoki is closing in March 2019. I'll miss this neighborhood spot. I'm not a sushi expert, but I always enjoyed going there. The people are very friendly.
The atmosphere was good, but the place was suspiciously empty. The sushi took a long time to come out and the temperature wasn’t quite right, as if it was not fresh. The rolls were poorly rolled and came apart when we picked them up. They were out of many menu items. Service was mediocre at best. Overall it was not worth what we paid, and we probably won’t be back.
I am a sushi fanatic. New York, San Francisco, Boston, and a hundred other cites throughout the U.S. and Europe - there is NO better sushi. The staff is not only competent and attending, they are beautiful, happy, and content. This shows that the owner has a depth, intelligence, and understanding of what it is to be a leader and owner. Not the only place in Seattle to go for sushi, but by far the finest.
Nice sushi, nice Kirin beer.
A little bit pricey but amazing tuna quality. It's unusual for the regular sushi meal to include bluefin tuna or toro but this set had both. Atmosphere was very peaceful and serene.
Isn't terrible but certainly one of the more underwhelming Japanese meals in Seattle.
One of best Udon in town!
Great reasonably priced Japanese restaurant. Has good traditional dishes you don't see as often in Seattle.
Moving out of this neighborhood and we will miss this place. Always polite, always fresh, and always tasty.
I wanted a small bite for lunch really quickly and ordered something they don't have on menu. They were very quick to make it as it was a simple request. Then I ate it. So amazing. I'm going back for a full sit down experience.
Located in great neighborhood. The food is just right and portion is very generous. Will visit whenever I’m around.
The best sushi and Japanese restaurant on Capitol Hill
Tried this place for the first time in years after new ownership. Did takeout and it was so great. The spicy tuna roll was outstanding as were the other rolls. Will be doing more takeout from this place for sure!
I really enjoyed my experience eating here. Will definitely return
I probably come here at least once a month, it is a family favorite. Good sushi and noodles. My favorites are the gyoza and kitsune udon.
Yummy! Great service. Loved the dragon roll best! But all were good!
My go-to place for simple, well prepared, affordable sushi.
This place is now my go to for amazing sushi, the prices were reasonable unlike most places on the hill and the staff was amazing. They were on top of everything, even the complimentary tea. The entrees are also great, try the salted mackerel!
Very quality food, and amazing service.Mmmmmmmmmmm!!!
They are open dining now New remodeling New management New menu
Nice quality sushi
Great, quick sushi at this classic, longtime Capitol Hill fixture.
The staff was so nice and pleasant. Brought us everything quickly and brewed fresh tea. Sushi was yummy and fresh. Prices were good! I would recommend!
Ok, I LOVE THIS PLACE, so I am a bit biased. I started going here in 1999, move out of state in 2005, now back, and PROUD to say that it IS the same Aoki of old. My husband, who lived in Japan for a while, found that Aoki is one of the very few places that had certain true Japanese food items. It is owned, managed, and run by Japanese people, which is certainly not true of most sushi places here in Seattle. The fish is ALWAYS fresh. The staff is always helpful and friendly. It seems that it's popularity has gone down some, but the quality is still great. Seriously, I could eat here 4 nights a week (and was known to do so "back in the day"). I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Just grateful that my daughter can go there, practice her limited Japanese, and enjoy some of my favorite food in the whole wide world (and I've travelled and lived a ton of places, so this says a lot!).
Excellent sushi in a cute little restaurant on Capitol Hill. That firecracker roll was crackin'!
day old microwaved rice, dry pork/chicken, pls pls do not subject yourself to thisthe owners seem nice, but really not good quality sry
Horrifyingly slow service. 42 minutes for Udon. The staff said if we order the thing we wanted it'd take 30 minutes. We said we didn't have that long. She recommended Udon, which the proceeded to take 42 minutes. And to cap it off, my friend's Udon came 10 minutes before mine. The staff said: "It will be out in 3 minutes." It was 10 though. Anyway the Udon was fine. Just bring a board game or something.
Good lunch with salad, miso, and a dragon roll. Lovely service.
Always lovely
You cannot be the quality for the price. Simple but fantastic sushi. The owner works every evening and make sure that the standards remain high.
Great food, great prices. You definitely get more bang for your buck. The people are absolutely fantastic as well.
Best sushi restaurant in town. It's been open for over 18 years with the same owners. Service is top notch. Suchi is succulent. Support this restaurant.
Very traditional, simple. Hamachi and Unagi were great tonight
I wanted to like this place but it's hard to like a place when they don't give you everything you order and when you remind them they want to act like you're bothering them. Doubt I'll visit again.
My favorite meal in Capitol Hill so far. The sushi is fantastic and their tempura is very fresh at a reasonable price too. I have had so many bad experiences with other restaurants on the hill and this place is always consistently good. Great date night spot.
My experience seems to be very different from other reviewers. Liked nothing about the rolls I ordered here. One of the worst sushi places I've been to.
Holy mother of god the fish here is bad. You do not want to eat this stuff.
Good Sushi, great location
